Group Therapy-Switch cell phones for a day???

So the ever so cool TysDaddy from Cheek of God wrote me an email last week:

"Here’s the question they’re asking on my local morning show this morning . . .

'Would you switch cell phones with your mate for a whole day?' Apparently, a friend of the host is going through marriage counseling, and the doc suggested this, to build trust.

Interesting . . ."

Interesting indeed, I thought this would be a perfect TOPIC for our Group Therapy Discussion this week!

I have pushed some of the other questions/topics back and posted this one!

So, would you guys? Would you switch cell phones with your mate for a WHOLE DAY to show your TRUST?

Let us know in the comments. Feel free to comment anonymous! This should be fun...

P.S. If you have any questions or problems you would like to have discussed in Group Therapy please email them to blokthoughts @ gmail dot com.

Thanks!

I absolutely would! Veronica and I already have password access to each others e-mail, blogger, and Wordpress accounts and I could pick up her phone and look at the calls and text messages any time I'd like. And she could do the same with my phone. So it wouldn't really be a big deal for us.

I just think she'd be jealous that I get more random nekkid pictures during the day than she does ;-)

I would definitely switch cell phones with my spouse. I have one of the most boring phones in the existence of cell phones. My best friend, my husband, and maybe another friend call me, that is it. Maybe once every other week there is a call from ............... my parents ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I know. I am telling you - boring. I wouldn't want his though - work calls come into his phone. The ones I avoid by giving them his cell number.

Definitely. Although I suspect some of the calls she got on my phone would upset her, given that I get calls for tech support from pissed off people.

Hubman, I think with ur relationship lifestyle it wouldn't be a problem :). That's cool!

Jules, u made me laugh! I bet that's true for a lot of people, they wouldn't want their spouses phone!

SciFi, disgruntled people dealing with computer problems does make me steam cause they always blame u for their problem of not understanding! Drives me batty!

I can't switch cell phones with my guy not because of trust issues, but because my cell phone is HALF my brain!!! And since only that half is working you can imagine my loss!

Everything is in my phone!

My hubs would get frustrated also with all the tweet messages and emails, he'd end up throwing it out the window and then I'd be screwed! And not in a good way!

But if I had to for my relationship...I'd do it in a heart beat!

It would be absolutely positively no problem for me to give him my phone. And I would take his phone, but I'd be upset everytime a txt message came through and I thought I was getting shot by an AK47. And this whatever it is ring-tone he's got that sometimes plays at 2:00am on nights he's taken off work...its not friendly. But otherwise, I have no concerns about content.

No. But not because of what you might think. She's got a Palm and I really hate that phone.

Shelle stole my answer. ;)

Because, yes, as far as trust issues: Sure, no problem.

But, logistically? I'm not sure I can survive a whole day without my iphone. o_0

Plus, I'm pretty sure he would not actually want to. It's my "personal" cell phone - but I have all of my work calls and emails forwarded to it.

I think he would be bored or annoyed to death by noon. ;)

Sure, We both wouldn't like what we saw or read. Just because all of his stuff would be boring to me pretty much and visa versa.

But the trust facter - no problem. Cool idea for those neededing to build trust.

I would totally switch phones -- because he has an iphone! :D

I couldn't do it! Duke does not have text messaging! This means I would have to actually speak to people and I can't do it.

We've actually done this...we have the same kind of phone, he took mine with him by mistake so I ended up with his phone...I had such a good time tricking the people who called on his phone, esp. his family. Whenever I get a call from them, I'd pretend I was someone else or it's some kind of a fast/delivery restaurant and asked what they'd like delivered.

Oh the confusion in their voices whenever they called and I'd answer, "Dominoes Pizza..how may I help you?" LOL Loads of fun, I tell ya..

Calls from his work, I just let his answering service pick up, I just love caller ID. He was not too thrilled about taking mine because he had to keep explaining to my friends who called why he had my phone..lol.

I'd do it again, I doubt he would want to do it again though.

Anjeny---ha! That would be fun! Only my guys family rarely calls, but I could text them and say funny things and trip them up! I'm getting giddy just thinking about it!

Funny Farmer---hey girl! I've missed you!

ZenMom---forgive me for taking ur answer... But u said it way funnier!

DGB- I don't like Palm Phones either!!!

Chief---eeeeccckkkk! No text!? That's blasphemous!

COTCH--+k that would NOT be funny, my guy can sympathize with u since my LOUD alarm goes off at 3:25 am!

Missty--hahahahaha

Yeah, but that's only because I've only had my phone for about a week now, and don't have anything inappropriate on it. I also don't text out of my fav 5, and Mr was the one who programmed those for me. not so certain I'd wanna know who was all programmed into his phone tho...

If it were a trust issue, I'd totally do it. And I'd take sexy, naked pictures of myself so when he was going through it, he'd have a pleasant surprise! However, we have no trust issues and he uses his phone for work. So I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Yes I would and I say that proudly as my husband and I have been married 44 years and I still know he loves me and being I am not hiding anything, I would give him my phone for a day. I am afraid he would be bored and I would be very busy as we have a home-based business and he gets business calls, but yes, absolutely I would switch phones for a day to show my trust and I am positive he would do the same.
