When a stranger calls (and asks for a pic)

I have been around the blogo-verse for over a year now. I have learned a whole lot in a very short amount of time. I have met some wonderful people that I am now friends with in real life. I have crossed paths with some down right creepy people too. I have seen things across blog land that have made me laugh, cry, *snigger, shake my head, wonder, learn, reconsider my opinion, and some that have just made me scrub my eyeballs and bleach my brain.

For the first half year I didn't show my face on my blog. My eyes, the back of me that is all you got. As I start feeling a bit more comfortable with myself and the blog world I started showing a bit more of myself. I now have posted pics of me and my kids full on.However, before I put myself out there on my blog - revealing what I really did look like, people would ask.

I get it, I am visual too. It kills me when I don't know what people look like on the blogs I read. However, there has been an instant or two where someone has skipped the comment box, and gone straight to email. You know these people. The ones you don't interact with every day - but there they are sending you a personal message.

It sounds like it has been written by a 7th grader, and goes something along the line of - you are so pretty I would like to see more of you. like you ass. send pics now. I'll send pics back.

Well, dang - let me get right on that. I will strip it down and take a pic of my back side and send it to you... stranger... I hope to receive the same back - gahhhh ... really? NO.

Who are these people, what are they doing with these pics *shudder*, and why would I trust you? Good gosh it takes a simple three or four clicks for any image to go viral on the web. I am pretty sure by *assets aren't what I hope to see as the next viral internet pic.

I get loads of requests, I think only Osbasso and Sage have seen my face, but the requests I get are truely outragious. I ve even been offered gifts and money for sending them!

I must be like a rock star in filthy blog porn world! er no! Im an overweight middle age woman with a bit of a sexual appetite and a passion for writting about it.

LOL at filthy porn world. You should just print pics from online and sell them to these idiots - heck set up a paypal account heels!

Well, see - that is the beauty, they don't actually have to be pics of you or your assets - just random pics from online. They wouldn't notice or care!

No stranger has asked me for a picture directly.maybe because my face is and has been plastered all over my blog!? Lol.

I think if someone did I would freak a bit (a lot)...that stuff creeps me out-mostly because I relate that to some guy who doesnt have a life but has a porn sickness! Bleh! And has built this imaginary life for himself.

The thing is the reason they are so bold to ask is that some DO actually send the pics!?

I'm not sure which is freakier?

I just send out a pic of the most unappealing person I can send, that usually sends em running!

I get people all the time asking. Some have even begged.

As I just tweeted to you I really should get a photo and send it to long time readers that really want to see what I look like.

And on a side note, I've also received pictures from females in various states of undress, naked and having sex.

Pretty crazy.

Sage - you are just such a charmer they don't care.... they keep coming back for more.

Dr. - I used to get unsolicited photos - I used to return the email with a notice that I appreciated the picture and the money I would be making off from it. That quickly took care of the problem

O.K., this creeps me out. It also scares me to a certain extent. We live up here in 'safe' country compared to the rest of the US. You don't find that out until you travel around the US a bit. We are really naive here about these things because most of the rif-raf doesn't live here mostly because of our lovely winter weather. I wouldn't take those requests etc to lightly. The people that are requesting these 'extra' photos could and probably do have a problem and it isn't hard to find out where someone lives, especially now with all our technology. I wouldn't be too quick to post full pics of yourself or your family. People are reported missing everyday and are NEVER found. Just saying........
